FAQs

How to get a role as a contributor on Shardeum especially if I am not from a technical background?

You can start contributing to Shardeum right away. It does not require any permission or technical background. Build, write, research, design, develop, talk – any area where you can add value. You are welcome to contribute to blogs in both English and non-English languages, videos, podcasts, community building, design, organizing webinars, community meet ups and you name it. With consistent contribution, you can qualify for various reward programs, incentives, POAPs etc.

I am a full-stack developer (Node.js, Angular, etc.). How can I help in development activities?

What is the difference between a committer and a contributor?

Committers: This role is assigned to core team members with shardeum.org emails.

Contributors: This role is assigned to community members who contribute to the project consistently.

We advise our community members to watch out for and contribute to targeted tasks and programs like the ones listed in the previous question for more rewards and recognition. At the same time, as we would like to iterate, you don’t necessarily have to wait for a new program or task that suits your skills to contribute to the project. Get started and contribute to the project in your own way without anyone’s permission. In either cases, we recommend you to document your efforts and update your profile here. Please find references of other contributors here.

Will I get an opportunity to be a committer in the future by consistently contributing to the project?

You can find more related Q&As under the careers category below. We offer career opportunities to individuals globally in roles that are in demand on the project. We encourage you to keep an eye on the careers page of Shardeum’s website. Additionally, we offer a ‘General Application’ opportunity for those who may not find an exact match with our currently listed roles but still wish to apply. This option welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences to submit their applications. While applying, you can let us know how you want to contribute to the project and we will consider your application subject to terms and conditions. Finally, it will be our pleasure to recruit potential candidates from within the community members and otherwise as well. By consistently contributing to the project, you do inherently have a higher chance of being hired by the Shardeum Foundation.

When and how will the early contributors get the SHM airdrops?

Airdrops will begin soon, and we will make a formal announcement once it begins. The team is working hard to recognize and identify early contributors to try and make sure we don’t miss anyone out. It is a dynamic process, as you can imagine, but we are in the final stretch of launching the airdrop campaign. Stay tuned for more updates via our official channels like Discord, Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, etc.
